2012年02月13日 10时04分，《英语资源网:英语论文：文化传播与接受：论电影名翻译研究[1]》由英语我整理. nic译为《泰坦尼克》等等。 (三)意译《翻译学词典》认为意译更关注如何使译文读起来更自然，而不是一味地保留原语的措词不变。电影名翻译中所采用的意译大致可以归纳为5种情形。 1．套用译语典故。典故作为语言和文化中的精华往往是独一无二的，并且人们耳熟能详，因此，翻译电影名时，如译者套用译语中的典故，无疑会让译语观众倍感亲切。例如ForrestGump被译作《阿甘正传》，Lolita被译为《一树梨花压海棠》就是运用汉语典故。《梁山伯与祝英台》译为ChineseRomeoandJu-liet，《大话西游之月光宝盒》译为ChineseOdyssey：Pandora’SBox，《大话西游之仙履奇缘》译为ChineseOdyssey2：Cinderella则是套用英语典故。 2．用译语文化归化。在翻译中，译者用译语文化归化原语。如Spider译为《蜘蛛侠》，就是用译语文化去归化原文，令人联想起汉语武侠小说中的刀光剑影。 3．概括原语电影的大意。译者撇开原电影名，而在译名中概括了电影的内容大意。例如，FreakyFriday译为《辣妈辣妹》；Ghost译为《人鬼情未了》，《甲方乙方》译为DreamFactory；《花样年华》译为IntheMoodforLove；《漂亮妈妈》译为Break—ingtheSilence；《回家过年》译为Seventene Years；《有话好好说》译为KeepCool；《大款》译为TheFuneralofFamousStar。 4．运用汉语成语或四字格。汉语是一种声调语，强调四声八调，这样的音韵特点决定了汉语中有很多成语和四字格的表达。运用成语和四字格往往言简意赅，朗朗上口，因此成语或四字格的运用成为汉语的行文特点。译者在英语电影的汉译中往往喜欢运用成语或四字格使得译文更地道、更容易为汉语观众接受。例如TopGun译为《壮志凌云》，Matrix译为《黑客帝国》，Charles’sAngle译为《霹雳娇娃》，Gonewiththeiw nd译为《乱世佳人》。 5．去掉原语文化。由于直译原语存在文化的障碍，译者在译文中甚至采用去掉原语文化的办法，以避开难点，迎合译人语读者。如《霸王别姬》译为FarewelltoMyConcubine；《唐伯虎点秋香》译为FIirtingScholar；《红色恋人》译为ATimetORe~emr。三、读者的期待视野尧斯吸取伽达默尔的思想，把对文学作品的理解置于其历史的视界中。所谓历史视界就是文本产生的文化语境，然后探索不断变化的文化语境以及读者的不断改变的个人视界之间的关系。因此，对文学文本意义的探索，不在于作者，而在于读者的历史性的接受，文学作品本身的意义不是恒定不变、一劳永逸的。理解本身改变了文本并且文化传统本身依赖于它们被接受的历史视野的变化而变化。期待视野认为毫无疑问，文本作品的生命力依赖于读者，没有读者的参与，作品的生命无以延续。目标读者并不是被动地接受文学作品，相反，他们在解读作品时发挥了主体性，从而创造了文本。事实上，在读者阅读文本之前，他们有着自己的“前理解”，即世界观、社会经验和一定的美学标准，即“期待视野”。这是接受美学的重要原则。读者的阅读经验构成了期待视野，另一方面，期待视野能影响读者对作品的理解。当读者理解并接受某一作品中的文化时，他们也就提高了自己的阅读能力。这也构成了他们的“视野的变化”，读者视野的变化也会影响译者翻译作品时所采取的策略。译文要被译语读者接受，译者必须研究目标读者的期待视野。而读者的期待视野是随着时代的发展而变迁的，因此，接受美学是发展的理论，而译者的翻译活动也是一个发展的过程。电影名的翻译跟文本作品的翻译一样，泽者应该研究观众的接受，即其期待视野，并且要考虑到观众的视野的时代变化。例如，中国电影《卧虎藏龙》被直译为CrouchingTigerHid—denDragon就是一例。在英语国家，虎和狮象征着勇敢和威仪。如，lion—hearted一词意为“勇敢”，而在中国，虎被认为是威严、权力，龙则代表着吉祥和威仪、权力。虎和龙是中国文化中有着独特的文化意象，因此，藏龙、卧虎在中文中是褒义的。众所周知，英语中“dragon”被认为是一种可怕的动物。根据《牛津高阶英汉双解词典(第6版)》“dragon”词条的解释：“dragon(instories)alargefierceanimalwithwingsandalongtail，thatcanbreatheoutfire”。传统中的龙，如在英国7世纪的著名史诗Beowulf中所描写的dragon就是一个无恶不作的mol—st
